In the nutritional supplement world, chondroitin sulfate is well-known for its benefit for cartilage and disc in Easley back pain. Its reputation keeps growing for influence on specific conditions from cancer to knee osteoarthritis to cells and nerves. Recent research positively affects diabetes and its related osteoporosis and inflammation. Young Chiropractic shares these new studies to assist our Easley chiropractic back pain as well as diabetic patients.
CHONDROITIN SULFATE: Diabetes and Inflammation
Chondroitin sulfate is a powerhouse potential for diabetes in addition to disc nutrition. It is written that it can reduce blood glucose and reduce symptoms related to diabetes. In new studies, it relieved diabetic osteoporosis and mended the microstructure of bone due to its anti-oxidative, anti-inflammatory, and bone metabolism-regulating properties in diabetic rats. The research studies keep coming! A recent report states that these outcomes were obtained after 10 weeks of consuming chondroitin sulfate, and serum inflammatory cytokines (TNF-A, IL-1, IL-6, MCP-1) decreased. (1) Part of the chiropractic treatment plan at Young Chiropractic is nutrition. The use of chondroitin sulfate is showing benefit that Easley chiropractic patients may appreciate.
CHONDROITIN SULFATE: Diabetic Osteoporosis
In another study of oral chondroitin sulfate and whether it has anti-diabetic properties, chondroitin sulfate was taken for 8 weeks. Preventive properties were revealed. It helped improve the symptoms of diabetes by increasing body weight, reducing water or food intake, reducing blood glucose, raising bone mineral density (BMD), repairing bone morphology and decreasing femoral osteoclasts. These benefits prompted the researchers to write that chondroitin sulfate could prevent diabetic osteoporosis through decreasing blood glucose along with antioxidative stress, anti-inflammation, and regulation of serum levels of OPG/RANKL. In summary, they stated that chondroitin sulfate can capably prevent bone loss brought on by diabetes. (2) Young Chiropractic presents this research as a hopeful option for our Easley chiropractic patients with osteoporosis.
